OP
This gives me hope. My old lilac didn't bloom at all this spring, for the first time, so I thought it was dying.

This is the first time it's had more than a few single florets after the spring bloom

It later leafed out. Maybe it will bloom late this year.

This has been an unusual spring. I've found lots of poison ivy and pokeweed growing in the flowerbeds for the first time ever. I pull the poke out by the roots and the poison ivy gets sprayed with homemade weed killer: a gallon of white vinegar, one cup of table salt and one tablespoon of dish soap. It works!
