Do you look up the names of all these insects, or do you just know them already? I'm always impressed!

I can identify the more common butterflies and moths, but for the dragonflies and damselflies I've been using the Google Lens app as a starting point. The app sometimes makes obvious misidentifications but provides a selection of photos for comparison and links to guides. I also sometimes use my old printed field guides for birds, plants and insects.

Sometimes it just takes patience--waiting for them to move from behind that blade of grass--and sometimes I have to manuever around them to get the best angle, while taking care not to spook them. I also take a lot of shots.

I knew it
