Sandhill cranes have a pair bonding dance where one throws a stick in the air and they both hop and flap like idiots. They will sometimes do it with people, but they just stared at me when ithrew a stick and hopped around.

They are both landing on a rock reef at the same time. But as the photographer and caption writer, I reserve the right to engage in anthropomorphism at my slightest whim.

Just seeing more than one at a time is odd, unless you're at a rookery.
