Ivy league birds

The starling and robin were among many birds in my neighbor's holly trees yesterday afternoon. They came for the berries of the English ivy, which woody vines have climbed to the tops of the trees.

And your title? I see what you did there!

I love seeing the robin holding a berry in its beak.

The other day while enjoying the unseasonably warm weather I sat outside with my bird ID app and it listed seven birds. I only recognized a few, but it's nice to know that the others are around too even if just passing by.

Around here, we don’t have any greenery. Probably another month and a half before we see any green leaves. Your photo gets me longing for spring!
