(13,573 posts)2. One was found dead near the Great Swamp ( N.J.) two weeks ago.
We think, Snapping Turtle.
On the underside of wings are pink patches. I am not sure if it is only in breeding season.

Great Blue herons normally have a wingspan between 5.6 and 6.6 feet. This one is probably 6+ feet.
