It was $9.99/lb ...

The procedure for the crust is outlined in the

"Christmas Dinner Tonight Perforce" thread in the Lounge

but simply: Preheat your oven to 450 and cook for 20 minutes (I did 25)

then lower the temp to 325 and cook 25 min/lb for Medium...

DO NOT OPEN THE OVEN DURING THE COOKING!

Someone asked the cost, one local store is selling prime rib for 5.99 a pound while another has a coupon for 4.59 a pound.

I'll buy a 10 pounder, cut it into 3 roasts for the little lady and myself and then toss them into the freezer.
