We did a drive by shooting to say we saw it. I wasn't too crowded when we got there but it quickly picked up. I was thinking of taking a series of people from the back while they were pictured trying to hold the tower up. Yes you can still go up it. I found the outside of the other buildings more interesting.

(35,198 posts)The Leaning Tower is a fine example of Romanesque architecture, IIRC from my Art History classes. Thanks for sharing these interesting photos. Looks like you had a beautiful sunny day to visit!

(4,933 posts)It turned to rain by the time we got to the ferry to Sardinia. That was fine since it was an overnight trip.
I can now cross Pisa off the list.

It's lovely and so are the surrounding buildings.

(4,933 posts)because it was on the way from Lucca to the ferry docks. The weather turned to rain before we could get on the ferry. No matter it was an overnight and nothing to see on the way. It was good to have a sunny day for the visit. But the tourist numbers...
