Gorgeous insect, amazing shots! Talk about being in the right place ar the right time!
I was not familiar with this moth, so I looked it up, and wow, these guys are huge:
MothSize (Adult; Length): 87mm to 96mm (3.42" to 3.77" )
In the second pic, I was really struck by how much the body shape resembles a hummingbird...and it's big enough to be one, too!
I learn so much just by hanging around DU!
