I always try to see just how close I can actually get and stay in focus. It's amazing. And I'm having a ball, doing it!

The first one I’d vote for in any DU contest! All are superb!

But I'm nowhere near pro level. It would be too much work to be able to pull that off. And I'm too old.

The photo I'm entering in this month's contest is one that I took with this lens. So we'll see!

Yeah, the oyster mushrooms look great to my eye too.

And I bought the striped gourd so I can see what it tastes like.

I really don't know.

Probably a matter of a few inches. The camera tells me when I'm in focus and I stop there. So I don't have to measure or figure it out. The camera tells me with a little green dot.

A couple of the super close-up photos were done with an electronic thingy called a 2X extender. It's a sort of electronic zoom. I use it mostly on my moon photos. It's magic!

An automatic lens! I like that idea.

I still haven't acquired a newer camera yet, this gives me ideas.

It's mirrorless and it contains the 2X extender. Those two features by themselves make the camera very worthwhile.

Things are in focus and all that. That's what I call automatic, could be different with camera manufacturers, though.

Eucalyptus! I just love the colors in that shot.

When I spotted the eucalyptus, I knew I had to get that photo. I love the colors and the shapes of the leaves.

We used to grow rhubarb in our garden when I was a kid. Brings back fun memories. We used to pick stalks and eat them raw.

The colorful flowers and those white mushrooms - really well done!

That third one down is the Lion's Mane.

The one you thought is rhubarb is actually Swiss Chard! They do look a lot alike. The leaves on the rhubarb are slightly poisonous; we cut them off! I love making it into sauce. YUM.
