Related: About this forumThis is an experimental post with my 12--45mm lens.
I'm attempting to break the old patterns and create new ones. I'm not sure I've succeeded, but we'll see ...

(93,569 posts)I have found that taking it to teh extremes of range helps me find my happy spot with a certain camera or lens. I look at the manual when I get a new one and then I lose it somewhere in a box. I don't recall using that size lens so I'm not sure of its intended purpose.
Those are good shots even if I'm not sure what you were after.

(152,479 posts)The first two were easy. And then the old habits came back and I'm photographing the 'normal' stuff.
I'll keep at it.

(93,569 posts)I like the last three for patterns, a little sharpening or contrast or something and they would stand out more, I think. Maybe a lit more stark lighting on the green ones. You chose good subjects, you'll find more. You're off to a good start!

(152,479 posts)When I'm out in the field, I'm concentrating on good focusing, proper lighting and composition.
It's difficult to juggle other considerations at such a time!
However, I am capable of learning.

(152,479 posts)I was really looking for patterns, but that photo was not really part of the theme.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. (I don't know what vegetable it is, either!)

Keep it up CP, you're doing good

I'll get there.
