Oktoberfest night

Only got there for one night. New record for attendees, 7+ million, benefited by having the XXL version. 18 days instead of the usual 16. We can thank great weather and the German Unification day holiday for adding 2 days to the event. Fun carnival to walk around. People watching seeing the rides. Avoiding the scary ones... The Teufelsrad, Devils wheel, is a raised in the center spinning disc. You try to be the last one on it. You win, admiration of the fans watching. You can go in and just watch the mayhem as groups of people try to stay on it.

This ride is my speed.

Here you pay to be the attraction.

Not this ride. Especially after the Wurst.

Snack time.

Another nope.

I try. The advantage of being here is that I can take my time to wander around and not feel that I have to see and do it all in one round.

The vendors return every year and it’s the same ole, same ole? I find it rather discouraging that I get the exact same experience every time. Major disappointment.

Can't they find new vendors and venues?

But it is slow.
It is typical of the region for all the carni rides and food choices. The bier comes from the 6 Traditional Munich brewers. Plus a wine tent. Where you can get 500 ml Weißbier. All others are Maß, liter. It is around 5.5%.
You can get Budweiser, Budwar here. But it is the original Czech brew. What the US version aspired to be.
My problem is that I don't drink beer so I have to find weinschorle, or smuggle in a flask to add to cola.

We alsonlike to meet people from all over in and out of the tents.

None of those rides would suit me! My inner ear would scream.

But there's plenty of other things to do--I'd have a ball taking photos!

Yours are fantastic.

There are some rides that might not affect your ear much. The large Ferris wheel. It gives some good views over the the scene.
