Like sunflowers? Here's a field of thousands

Recent storms and downpours have ripped the petals from many of these sunflowers. I'd hoped to get a shot of this field before the rains came, but I'm glad that I couldn't get there until yesterday afternoon.

I imagine they're grown for their seeds and the oil?
I like sunflowers but am sad when they die down because it means summer is over.
