Question for lyricists

Last edited Mon Aug 1, 2022, 04:59 PM - Edit history (1)

I’m looking to write music for a song but am terrible at lyrics. Good lyrics inspire me. Does anyone have any lyrics that you could share with me? They don’t even have to be that good.

You will get a credit for writing the song and all proceeds will be split 50/50. (That was a joke).
I just want to do this for myself. I feel I can create a good song but need help.

Thanks in advance for anyone taking me seriously.

Choose at least one of these to be uncommon:
vocabulary
intonation
instruments
rhythm

If you have one good line and the rest sucked wouldn’t that pretty much make it a sucky song? And elaborate in what you meant that at least one should be uncommon?

Everything I do is with Ableton and a keyboard (Roland synth).
I just have no lyrical ability. I don’t know why, but I just want to try getting some lyrics.

One possibility I just thought of is using lyrics from songs I’ve never actually heard before and use that as my inspiration. Of course that would not ever get outside of my own computer.

I think a lot of songs materialize out of scat singing. Nonsense words are improvised based on their sound and musicality, and then partial ideas with real words will pop out. Then inspiration occurs and you go with it.

It’s the meaning of the words that makes me able to feel the song. Gibberish lyrics would not do that. I know I sound crazy, and maybe I am, but I think that’s what I need.

He probably barely got to see electric guitars let alone metal.
I’d get a kick out of hearing it!

Great music too. I know this a lot to ask and if you can’t do it I understand completely, but do you have the lyrics written down? I couldn’t make out some of the words. Otherwise I’ll have to guess. I’d rather use the actual words though.

Regardless, thank you very much. I don’t want to listen to it again right now because I already have an ear worm for that tune!
