I thought they must be from the Bayou country given their songs, but it turns out Golden Staters from Bakersfield aren't much different.
I liked Fogarty even better when he went solo with Blue Moon Swamp and Revival. He's a genius.

I was born in 1969 and remember hearing them a lot when I was young. I always loved Fogerty's primal-sounding voice. I've never heard another voice quite like that. They do sound like they're from deep in the bayou or the woods. You know, I've never even heard anybody imitate John Fogerty. Hard to do.

...and I would like to see one, but I've never heard of one. I've never even heard anyone cover them.

We took our daughters to see John Fogerty a couple of years ago. What a fun show! Run Through the Jungle & Green River are my favorites by them.

...the record company used to sue John.
When "Old Man Down The Road" was a hit, they sued John because the song sounded too much like Run Through The Jungle.
But of course, John wrote both songs! One cannot plagiarize one's self.
But, they sued him for sounding too much like himself.

That's the music industry for you. He made all that money for the record company and it still wasn't enough. So much for gratitude!

Saul Zaentz. He flimflamned a very young John Fogarty into a deal under which Zaentz retained all publishing rights in perpetuity.
When John finally broke away, he was blocked (or at least severely restricted) from performing songs he wrote & made popular.
When he landed on his feet with new material, he fought Zaentz in court for the right to perform his songs in concert.
But when he won, Zaentz was looking for a revenge suit and picked OMDTR because of its similarity to "Jungle".
His suit actually precipitated a long legal battle & negotiation so that John got all his rights to the catalog back.

It makes me sick to see someone so talented who can't use his own music because he was tricked by some no-account bastard who created nothing. I wonder how much it cost Fogerty just to get his music back! I hope he was able to force them to pay his legal bills.
