"Stay Away From Me" by The Sylvers, circa 1978

This was in a separate box. I think this is from my Uncle's collection. Anyway, The Sylvers was an unappreciated group. Their harmonies were good. They had nice costumes and choreography and were poised to go far. Alas, it didn't work out that way because the oldest boy in the group who was the backbone, lyricist and arranger, was spirited away by the "star maker machinery behind the popular song (thank you, Joni Mitchell)." Some large corporate music group lured him away and the group was left to wither. The lead singer of this song, Edmund Sylvers, died young in 2004.
