(70,599 posts)On the tours for the albums these 2 songs came from.
She has remarkable vocal endurance. Every note strong & in control from the first song to the last.
The bands backing her up were also super solid, both times.
My wife wanted to see her on the "She's So Unusual Tour". I went figuring it would be fun, but was really impressed with how musically solid it was.
So, when she came to Chicago for True Colors, I bought tickets without a second thought.
We enjoyed the heck out of her both times.
BTW: I actually do a solo guitar version of the first song. That's how much I like Cyndi.

(3,293 posts)With Girls zjust Want to Hsve Fun she reminded me of Lulu of To Sir With Love fame. But she sure became a talent that would last. Better management and talent all around. I'd bet she didn't just rely on management, I'd bet she took control.

(70,599 posts)She took control of her own affairs after Blue Angel flamed out.
She, obviously, delegates things like bookings & she has a professional money manager, but she makes all the decisions.
She also delegated musical direction. David Rosenthal (Rainbow) & Rick Derringer were both musical directors for her. But, she picked them.
She's pretty shrewd.
