among male rock bands of the time was their love for and covers of "girl group" songs.

"Please Mr. Postman," "Devil in Her Heart," "Boys"... etc. And then they incorporated those fantastic Girl Group harmonies into their own tunes: "This Boy' "If I Fell" "Yes It is" and so on.

Even as late as "Because" on Abbey Road you can still hear that influemce.
