I'm just here looking for jewelry ideas.

Got some stuff coming in the mail. It's just a little something to fill in time and try to get my hands to cooperate.

So is there a certain thread with ideas by any chance?

hold access cards. One woman made a beaded necklace into her lanyard. It looked great.

Lots of Ideas there. I have been making and selling jewelry for over 20 years. I used to sell on my own website, but starting using Etsy. Good place for you to hone in on what you want to make and also a great place to buy your findings.

Here in DFW area, we have Beads shows 3 or 4 times a year. A visit to a bead show many years ago is what got me interested in jewelry making. Also visit beads shops which have all kinds of findings and offer classes in jewelry making.

In all my jewelry making, I will always love African glass beads and Ethiopian crosses and prayer beads. I went half steam punk at one time making bracelets out of old wristwatches and necklaces with dog license tags and also old keys. My great love is turquoise, this is a little expense for beginners, but start with what you like and go from there, but don't be afraid to explore. Visits to art museums can inspire as well as beading magazines.

I have just finished a 4-strand Navajo type necklace made with white shell heishi beads and turquoise nuggets. I was inspired by seeing the beautiful native American jewelry our new Secretary of interior wears.

And there's also the Tucson Mineral Show every year.
