(14,592 posts)And the most beautiful piano!
The transcription I have is from Singer, who seems to have transcribed everything.
It is the "complete symphony" version. ( at imslp.org)
Another YT ( I HATE ADS) has a lady (Khoury? ) playing the Singer version, I think.
There are two more transcriptions of the movement for piano solo at imslp. Reger and Katz. The latter says piano solo, but has three staffs. I don't have three hands, and it seems like everyone else has longer fingers. Sigh.
And I don't smoke.
This is a real stretch for piano, I might like the orchestral version better. Though, some parts of the Khoury performance are stunning.
I like the piano versions of the second movement of symphonies 2 and 4, and the finale (very end) of #4. Number 4 was Mom's favorite. The final movement is a massive set of variations.
