We associate French music with Impressionism, as we do with art. But in reality, French music is all over the map, from Rameau to Les Six and others.
Offenbach and Berlioz, anyone?

Same for Russian music. We associate it with Romanticism, not exactly with Prokofiev and Shostakovich.

And so on.

Because these epochs in music are very popular.

If you want a real head-scratcher, consider the Citroen!

Truly, only the French could have invented this!!
But I digress!
