I just saw "FLIGHT" and "ARGO." I saw LINCOLN a while back....

Wow--it's an embarrassment of riches this year for the Oscars. Some great movies out there!

Flight was really good I thought, I'm surprised it wasn't nominated. Son of Gob Feb 2013 #1

I personally liked Denzel in that better then Daniel Day-Lewis in Lincoln. I just watched Silver Linings Playbook and it was fantastic. Jennifer Lawrence should probably win the Oscar for that.

I've been jamming through the nominated movies over the last week, I still have to watch Life of Pi and Les Mis.

Here's how I'd rank them so far.

1 - Silver Linings Playbook
2 - Zero Dark Thirty
3 - Argo
4 - Lincoln
5 - Django Unchained
6 - Amour
7 - Beasts of the Southern Wild

The movie wasn't my favorite, either, but I thought she was incredible -- and even more so given her young age.

I haven't seen all of 'em yet, either--we may watch Skyfall tonight (it's nominated for a few oddball awards, but none of the more central ones).

I agree w/you--thought Denzel's performance was a more difficult one than DD-L's...I'm not arguing that DD-L didn't do a fantastic job bringing Lincoln to life, but Denzel played a very convincing stage 3 drunk and he was on screen a LOT. It was a very nuanced job he did.
