Mayim Bialik is out as the host of Jeopardy!.

The Big Bang Theory star shared the news on her Instagram Friday, writing that the show’s producers had informed her that she will “no longer be hosting the syndicated version of Jeopardy.”

“As the holiday break begins in Hollywood, I have some Jeopardy! news,” she began in a post set against the series’ iconic blue background. “Sony has informed me that I will no longer be hosting the syndicated version of Jeopardy!”

“I am incredibly honored to have been nominated for a Primetime Emmy for hosting this year and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the Jeopardy! family,” her statement added. “For all of you who have supported me through this incredible journey and to the fans, contestants, writers, staff and crew of America’s Favorite Quiz Show, thank you.”

Smart and classy woman, and she did a great job on Jeopardy.
But I don't know, maybe she has another sit-com series lined up?

There are rumors of a Big Bang Theory spinoff.

But didn't care for her hosting style on Jeopardy. Will happily watch her if they go forward with the Big Bang spinoff!

It was "The Prom Equivalency" when Sheldon first told Amy he loved her. I remember we all screamed after he said it. And I remember something that didn't end up on the show: Sheldon smacked Amy on the butt when they were in the hallway together.

Sure doesn't sound like a resignation. In fact it sounds like an unexpected termination.
Not nice of Sony at all.

And yes she tells us indirectly that she got fired and then handles it like a class act.
Good for her.

I wonder if she'll ever go back to her neuroscience research.

As far as I know, Ken Jennings isn't a professional actor. Maybe that might change if he has decided to do Jeopardy as a fulltime job. (I don't know.)

The strike is settled with a happy ending, and everyone is ready to move on. I supported the strike and posted many "solidarity" messages here on DU for the actors' efforts in the last 4 or 5 months. I don't think it's helpful to call people scabs or other names.

I'm sure Ms. Bialik will land on her feet. She's got a lot going for her, including her residuals from an extremely popular sitcom that will run for many years in syndication. Sony made their choice ... so let's decide to be civil and positive.
