Never know what you'll find.
Took a call from a guy with a Victrola for sale. I have not had much success with them, only cylinder players. I went to his house anyway as I was hoping to find more.
Well, the Victrola was beautiful, in perfect working order and a great finish. Then I asked about anything in the garage he might want to sell, "nothing", the usual answer and my usual response is "lets take a look". Found 3 small antique tables he was storing out there and got those, plus a few nice jars. Then there was the large industrial oak cabinet. It was massive and very cool with metal dividers in each drawer. Must have been over 300 pounds and it was all we could do for the two of us to load it in my truck.
I've had more luck asking what's in the barn or garage and usually get the "nothing" answer. I try to push for a look and then spend more on the "nothing" than I do on what was is in the house that they think is the good stuff.

Congrats on your cool finds!!

(34,322 posts)A low wide one in very nice shape. Even the 20 or 30 records that came with it very super nice. Had a beautiful stencil of the dog and the horn under the cover.
