Hi everyone, quiet in these parts. What's going on?

Picked up a small Steiff stuffed animal this past weekend. Looks like a Gerbil. No tail, fuzzy white body. pink ears. Body has brown and orange patches. It does not look like the pictures on eBay. Does not matter, he is so cute....a keeper for all of 25 cents. He was in a basket of cat toys. Pays to scrounge around.
Not much to brag about lately. Slim pickings.

Have been an Etsy fan for the last couple of years and have never had a negative experience.
Even tho Etsy is a fixed price site, the prices are low enough that I consider it an upscale garage sale environment.
With quality guaranteed!

I like being able to get American made Corning Ware, Pyrex kitchen stuff for half the price the new cheap Chinese crap costs in stores.

at a sale last week and it sold the first day for $5.

Hot at the mall this week, 4 dressers sold in one day. Dealers can't stay stocked up on old drawers, and cupboard doors, along with beat up shutters. Old books have picked up and WWII stuff is hot.

My sister and I drive from our home in GA to NM each year to visit family, and we shop all the way out and back. Dallas has always been a great area for us, and this year was no exception. We found more nice cheap furniture than we could cram in the van. Our prize was a lovely oak kitchen cabinet (with sifter intact) for $35. The lady selling it had the top and bottom separated at the sale and didn't even realize it was the same piece of furniture!! We bought several smaller pieces of furniture from the same sale so we were fairly full then and had to "settle" for books and smalls the rest of the way. We also had good sales in Los Alamos, NM, and Oklahoma City. I bought some wonderful clothes for my granddaughters at an upscale (to me) resale shop in Santa Fe, and we found quite a few small treasures at thrift shops.

Our shop is in the north GA mountains so we got home just in time for our peak season when the leaves are turning and tourists are heavy.

We are already planning our next trip.

I swore would not go to any yard sales this weekend. Oh Well, on the way to the dump with leaves, I passed one.
Bought a cute aluminum oval roaster with cover.
Wagner Ware No.3 Drip Drop Roaster #3.
I will get great use from this pan. It is clean but the inside of the base is clean but spotted. In tried one of the on-line 'how to clean aluminum pans' ---Looks no better.
Anyone know how to clean---or remove discoloration from aluminum pans? The cover with raised lettering is great, as is the exterior of the pan. I'd like to spiff up the inside.
Thanks,
PR

This is kind of a "twofer" story since the tag sale was at a place known to be a hard core Republican venue. LOL. I bought a pretty, little mid-century modern wood table that was signed. I picked it up because I thought it looked like it might be a Nakashima table. It wasn't, but I liked it so I paid $20 for it and figured I'd put $125 on it in the group shop booth. Just for the heck of it, I googled the name of the maker and up popped a NYC gallery with several examples of this guy's work STARTING AT $4,000. I was stunned and immediately put the table out of the reach of cats and their claws until I decide where to try to sell it.

I'm still looking for the Faberge egg. Good for you on the table. Makes all the hard work worth while.
