Ebay scammer - I should know better than to buy a preorder.

I bought a Dr. Who TARDIS lunchbox for my dd for Christmas in Dec '11. I missed the whole small print 'this is a preorder' on the bottom and when I saw it soon after I paid, I thought, no big deal as I had bought a few other items for my dd and it would be a late gift for her. It was supposed to be shipped out mid-January. I usually give things from the U.S. (I'm in Canada) about a month to arrive, so I started asking about it mid to end of Feb. Seller apologized profusely and said that the product had been delayed and all the preorders weren't shipping till JUNE. I was upset, but thought I'd be diplomatic in case the seller was being honest (99.2% positive) and I knew I'd been had as it was too late to get my money back through Paypal or leave neg feedback on ebay (lesson learned!). So it's August and nothing has arrived, but seller is now advertising same lunchbox as in stock. I sent a note telling seller now that it was in stock in this new listing, I expect mine to be delivered in a few weeks TYVM. I won't hold my breath.
I have half a mind to start a new ebay account and buy a cheap item just so I can leave neg feedback, and do a chargeback. Scammer.
Edited to delete name, as I just got a shipping notification. We'll see if I get what I ordered. I'll update later.
UPDATE in Post #8.

(8,646 posts)it's been so long. I'll do that if the shipping notification is bogus (I read a few neg feedbacks that said seller gave a bogus tracking number so we'll see).

(10,794 posts)- so many people have told me it's not worth it; that no one's buying anything.
Do you have good experience with them?
(Just found this group).

(51,235 posts)If you don't get the item it's out and out fraud. Although it's doubtful they would ever bother to charge him, if you can get a cop to give him a phone call that would be a big encouragement to fulfill the order ASAP.

(10,794 posts)the ThinkGeek people have a great supply of Doctor Who stuff (click on link) including the lunchbox
- they also have a lot of other Nerd and Science geek items including Tshirts, mugs, and just a damn interesting catalog!

(8,646 posts)And thanks for the direct link to the Doctor Who stuff! I haven't looked in awhile. I must have that Adipose plush, ACK! Too cute.
Unfortunately, at the time that I needed the gift, ThinkGeek was all sold out of the lunchboxes.
One thing they need to get - that I bought on ebay - TARDIS salt and pepper shakers. Love mine.
But the lunchbox arrived today I'm thankful I wasn't scammed.

(10,794 posts)I have the "My other car is a Tardis" license plate holder - it gets some great smiles and thumbs up gestures but not many here in the US yet. I think a lot of people have yet to discover how great the new Docs are.
Allons-y!

(8,646 posts)Either my message worked, or the seller really DID just get them in. Either way, the seller should put a disclaimer on his/her listings. At any rate, I have a happy daughter today. Christmas in August! LOL.
