Any glassware collectors here?
My husband has been collecting glassware for years. We met in college, and he had 3 pieces of glassware at the time. It became a lifelong passion for him, and 50 years later, we have a ridiculous amount of it.
He collects stuff from the 50s and 60s on, he loves clear glass in bright colors and has got every color of the rainbow. Lots of Blenko and Viking pieces, in particular, including stoppered bottles and tons of glass birds and animals. I'm not nearly as knowledgeable about it as he is, but I really enjoy looking at it.
I would be glad to share more about it, including some pics, if anyone here is interested in that sort of thing.

(47,584 posts)EAPG is just dead weight as far as I know, unless it is really old, like pre-1870. They made the stuff into the 1950s.
Leaded glass generates no interest. I hear recyclers don't even want it. You can't grind it, it becomes lead powder.

(18,925 posts)His stuff is all mid-20th century and later. Most of it isn't worth a huge amount of money, which is why he's been able to collect so much lol.
He does have some pieces that are worth quite a bit more than he paid for them, but he doesn't buy anything just for the value. He collects things he finds beautiful or interesting, and if he picks up a bargain here and there, it's a nice bonus.
