Need help on what something is worth
An acquaintance approached me knowing I'm into antiques and offered to sell a cast iron toy airplane for $100. The
toy appears to be 30s/40s with 95% of its original paint, on the bottom is a vinyl decal, made in Wichita KS with the
logo of the "Wichitoy" toy company. On the wing is a vinyl decal that says "aerial torpedo".Could find very little info
on them. So I guess my question is, Is a toy from a almost unheard of toy company worth anything? Does anyone
collect toy manufacturers with no name recognition?
Might be one of the last known pieces of their wares that has survived with paint & decal. Doing a google on
"wichitoy toy pictures" shows some of their plastic toys they made in the late 40's, nothing cast iron, airplane is 10/12
inches long with wingspan about the same. Wondering what someone would pay for something very rare that nobody
has heard of. Any ideas of value, high & low?

$100 is reaching for the very top end. Only someone in Wichita's aircraft industry might give crazy money
for it, and he was aware I spent 40 years working in it. I'll see him this weekend again and low ball him
and see what happens.
A nationally advertised toy auction might bring out some crazy money.
He also had a store called Frank Fritz Finds in Savanna, Illinois. If he still has that store you might want to send him a pic and see what it might be worth. He is a retailer and will probably offer you half of what it's worth at best, but you might get a better idea of it's retail value.
I checked, he's still in business, and yes Frank would offer half of what he thought he could get out of it.
