Does Anyone Here Know Anything About "Magic - The Gathering" Cards?.....

I recently purchased a binder of 1059 cards each in a plastic sleeve (9 sleeves to a page). All the cards appear to be in excellent condition. Paging through the binder I can see some doubles of certain cards. In a separate plastic pencil case included in the binder are the original boxes these cards were sold in. Each box is flattened to be accommodated by the case. Looks like some rule books as to how to play the game as well.

I purchased this collection because it looked intriguing to me and I'm not wondering if I have anything of value.

What can you tell me about this game? Who plays it? And perhaps the value of such a collection/cards?

Any info would be appreciated.

I'm not sure as to how to do that. If I can manage it - I'll post a pic.

for $4.00. I don't know where cards like these are sold.

When I saw the binder at the estate sale and asked the price - it was one of those - when you see it buy it moments. So I bought it.

I have to think that there is a group of people out there that collect these cards and play the game associated with them.

I thought I might connect with someone here on DU that knows something about them.

I got to believe that this collection is worth a lot more than just the $4.00 I paid for them.

It is a comic book store, too. There might be stores near you that do this.

This store has Magic: The Gathering tournaments.

My son played this game 20+ years ago. The attorney on the other side of a deal was a ranked player in the computer version of this game

and over 49,000 sold in the last 60 days.

Prices vary from 1 penny to up to $4k. You'll just have to go thru your cards and see if you have anything valuable.

When I buy collections I spend time researching so I don't leave any money on the table.
