Other than Replacements Ltd., does anyone know of a company that buys Antique dinner services?
I have about 140 pcs+or-) of a Noritake/Nippon service that I must move along. I contacted Replacements Ltd. Their offer was insultingly low. As an example, they offered me $4.00 for a covered veg. dish that they are offering for $89.95. Yikes.
I may be moving soon and I need to move this along but don't know who to contact. An old price list of theirs that I have totals over $4000.00 for what they had at the time. I have many more pieces and all are in prime condition. The pattern was started in the late 1800's and discontinued in 1921. I am not trying to make a killing, just $500.00 and a pick up in my town. Cannot pack this by myself. Any ideas about a dealer I might contact? I am in the greater Boston area.
Any suggestions would be a help.

(50,130 posts)I wonder if you would do better by using that as a tax deduction -- donating it to a charity that would auction it. Hopefully someone here will have some ideas for you. It must be very tough to think of the value of the set vs. what you can get for it these days.
I wonder about advertising it in the Boston classifieds somewhere.

(20,733 posts)List it in both the household and antiques categories, with pictures. I would list it for more and then bargain down. $500 for 140 pieces would truly be a bargain.
