What famous person do you most resemble?

Not today, but about 25 years ago, I heard a few times that I looked like Michael Andretti, race-car driving son of Mario Andretti.

Today, I'm not sure who I look like.

I was not lovely in my teenage years- glasses, no style, long straight hair and bad skin. But by my 30’s I had a comfort with myself, gotten contacts and (mostly) outgrown acne.
A friend saw a picture of me at age 33 and said “Oh my God, (Biophile), you were hot!” The real twist was the incredulous tone in her voice and the “were” - like, OMG, what the hell happened to you? 😏.

i WAS pretty when i was younger. i guess i’m not bad for an old lady, but …
when my ex used to tell me i was pretty i was almost insulted. like- how stupid does he think i am?
1 of many reasons i dont talk to my sisters much.

the whole thing was rly reinforced in the days i used to hang out w my younger sister. i’m objectively better looking than her. i just am. she has my mom’s schnoz and crooked teeth. but she always put so much more effort into looking good. she was much better than me at makeup. so she got way more attention than i did.
it taught me a lot about beauty in america. these rich women who do all that plastic surgery, and go to such lengths to b ‘beautiful’ r being valued for the lengths they go to, not the results.

The women look grotesque with all that surgery. I understand an eyelid lift or maybe a chin tuck but the extreme stuff is actually frightening. The cheek implants and slant eye pulling is freaky. I stopped dyeing my hair- I’m done pretending that I’m not 70. My husband is 80 and I’ve told him that no matter how old I am- I’m always 10 years younger than him! ☺️

never wore makeup after my 20’s either. it felt like a little lie, and i just dont lie.
maybe that’s what those men want, a woman who lies.
