with hand gestures for two reasons. They like to please humans and they have been bred for centuries to follow human hand gestures as sheep herders.

I had one as a pet years ago. It's incredible how they pick up on the slightest body language and learn words from context without being intentionally taught. They always seem to be in sync with their people.
