Captured in Irvine, California, nature videographer Sukhjot Singh shot this Allen's Hummingbird mother feeding her chick after its first flight. Sukhjot had been observing the family from when the female Allen's Hummingbird got her start in October scouting for a nesting site. On the video, Sukhjot notes, "It was a bittersweet moment when they took their first flight. I knew how tough their journey was and how hard their mom had worked to protect and provide for them. This sweet memory of her feeding a chick after its first flight will stay with me forever."
