Lock your credit AND debit cards when you are not using them. There were two attempts on my accounts.

The first was yesterday and was on my B.o.A. credit card. The card is locked to the attempt went nowhere. I got emails from B.o.A. saying the purchases were turned down because the card was locked. Then the email told me to unlock the card if I wanted to make the purchase.

The second was today and was on my B.o.A. debit card. Same thing. Locked, so no purchase.

Yes, it's a pain-in-the-ass to unlock and relock the card when you want to use it......

There was a massive data breach in 2013. I wasn't on the receiving end but I've never forgot about it.

But, you can try my methodology regarding having money stolen.

Just don't have any money in the first place.

It has worked amazingly for myself.

...is that it requires you have account access at all times, and I think using LTE or public WiFi to access a bank account carries equally high risk.
I don't even access my bank websites at home by WiFi. I plug in directly to the modem.
I never do financial transactions on my devices outside the house.
