I'm still kicking even though I've been quiet lately. The recovery from the stroke continues at a snails pace, imo. I am walking with a rollator really well. Donated my wheelchair to a needy person in my hospital hall.
Sunday will mark 100 days in hospital and rehab. Talk of discharge on Monday was starting to get louder, until I fell in bathroom and fractured my hip 3 weeks ago. One surgery and 3 screws later, I'm walking almost as I was prior. I got 8000 steps in 1 day last week.
Not sure when I will get home, the lady I am dating told me in no uncertain terms that I will be leaving hospital to her place.
I jokingly accused her of using my injury for her gain. But I'm looking forward to it.
So I'll try to be more open as I start a few new chapters in my life. I'm sure MrsK and LilBit would approve.
So until later,,
Koz

(27,633 posts)Just be careful and don't try to do the impossible. You don't want to end back up in the hospital. All the best to you.

(1,965 posts)After a construction site accident resulting in a broken ankle and pelvis and a 100% knee dislocation it took eight months of physical therapy and hard work to be rid of wheel chair and walker, but I did it! Don't give up...it really is one step at a time!
GOOD LUCK!
Keep up the good work!

I have to add, you're getting in more steps than I do a day.

(5,911 posts)Sounds like your hip wasn't that severe if you are already making high steps numbers. In a way be glad you did that while in rehab so you got care quicker and were already in rehab. Keep us updated as you progress.
