52 years ago...We were wed...
It began with touch, one hand slipping into another’s fitting seamlessly.
That bond felt eternal, two hands exploring each other’s love touching the other’s life, today…always.
Snow melts, grass greens, colorful autumn leaves fall…again and again.
Stumbles, rejoices, tears and laughter, repeat yet again…the bond holds.
In the rush of the day…in the quiet of the night, it ends with a touch, one hand slipping into the other’s….bonding seamlessly.
As our bodies fade and we become indistinct to the world the last line from a poem comes to mind.
“Our almost-instinct almost true: What will survive of us is love.” *

Hoping for many more
We were 16….her, 17….me, when we first knew. We sat on an old torn down silo foundation and talked away the night…the bond was started.
We had a big snowstorm the day or two before…streets were still messy. But oh well, Michigan weather…
