(1,045 posts)Yesterday evening, before any snow, I canceled our women's group's upcoming Xmas party brunch. It was supposed to be this morning, but the forecast was, maybe, heavy snow. I didn't want to be seen as a Grinch for canceling, but I didn't want to risk anyone's safety. So, I was probably the only person relieved to see the heavy snow this morning since it vindicated my decision! I am NOT the Grinch! 🎄🎁🌨☃️

(10,149 posts)We here in the northern tundra (Minnesota, Wisconsin) sent that your way.
We have around 13 inches here in Roseville.
Hopefully, you will also get what is supposed to happen starting next week. We are in single digits to minus ones this weekend, but it is supposed to warm up to 40F by Tuesday! Balmy!

(55,610 posts)not stop on the way home to get some food. The storm stalled over Pittsburgh and the whole area got 26 inches of snow. Oh, Rich was in Orlando at a conference and they don't plow around here unless it is three inches or less. We had no school for the remaining
4 days. The following week we had an Arctic Blast with minus degrees --another week of no school . These two weeks off followed the Christmas break. In PA you must complete those days off to receive State funding. We never had another day off and went until the end of June.
OldBaldy1701E
(10,149 posts)I believe it is the same in North Carolina. We would go well into June if we had more than two snow days.
Of course, we seldom did, but it happened a few times when I was in school.

(71,634 posts)At this point, dry precipitation would be wonderful. We narrowly missed getting flooded out. But the Puyallup River didnt breach, so we got lucky.
Id love a little snow right now

(425 posts)I'm not too far from the Pennsylvania state line. It's light so far with a little more than 1/4 inch accumulated. I doubt we'll see more than 3 inches by the time it moves through.
