I use closed captioning because I am severely hearing impaired, and sometmes the captions

are hilariously wrong but still comprehensible. For example, "sicko pants" for "sycophants."

Just now the CC for an article I was reading rendered "Pulitzer Prize" as "pullet surprise."

LOL!

What I find funny is how they think they are saving money by getting a machine to do it, yet the data centers that they will need to do this job can cost more than hiring an entire state's worth of people to do it.

Hysterical.

or I'm in a library (which doesn't allow speakers on its computers - have to carry ear buds I think). and yes the conversion to print is good but has errors. Don't they allow the host to upload a preview of technical terms or key words first?

I lightly peruse through the transcripts looking for misspellings and correcting names before I hit the post button. While they slip my mind, some of the misinterpretations are hilarious.

of reasons, including poor sound quality and the lack of clarity in the speech of some actors. I used to teach English, so I always notice mistakes in the captions, some of which are very funny in context. Love that "sicko pants" example! Maybe we should start a thread with funny examples we come across on a daily basis.
