I don't wear anything in bed, I don't wear anything in the shower. The rest of the time I try to be fully clothed.

(7,798 posts)in that doesn’t look like daywear. Yes, I wear my underpants under my pjs. I love my lingerie and have a large dresser drawer dedicated to my ‘underpants’. I have lots of them. I know, too much information.

(10,481 posts)I can go to bed freezing my ass off and wake up overheated during the night.
On overheating... think extremely thirsty, sweltering, sweaty and grasping for air multiple times during the night. Sometimes not being able to get back to sleep for awhile. Sometimes if I stay asleep during an overheating event I develop nightmares during the process.
I keep the thermostat between 64 to 66 during the winter because of my overheating, so far it seems to work.
There are times I alternate between wearing underpants and not wearing underpants to bed.
There are multitude of health benefits for woman going commando to bed. Gynecologist do recommend that women go underpants free when they can.

(26,501 posts)..."down under," so to speak, which is healthier. That's a body area that doesn't get much chance to air out.
The main purpose of underpants is to keep your "over" pants clean. Not necessary with your pajama pants.
I always used to advise parents at the pediatric office to have their kids forgo underwear at night.
Health aspects aside, for me, panties under pajama pants always feel like they get twisted up.
