one year. He got pretty tame and I called him Herbert. Everybody that came here to my pond to fish or swim would pet and feed Herbert. Late fall another pair landed in my pond and Herbert all excited swam out to them. When they flew off, Herbert went with them. He never did return.

One spring, a Canada Goose landed and joined the flock of Toulouse Geese my father was raising. He stayed many years; got very plump, and died of old age.
