I've started to write this post three times now lol. I'm going to do this now no matter what.
Christmas has always been a difficult holiday for me because of the "Lack of Family" in my life. Well, you all certainly changed that this year.
I can only pray that each of your spirit filled holidays are as special, meaningful, and exemplary of the Holidays true meaning as you have made this Season for me.
For some, that may mean reconnecting for the first time with renewed hope.
For some that may mean a simple gift that makes you feel seen, heard, understood and or loved (Again)?
For some it may mean the closeness and intimacy we crave from someone special, offered in a way that gets all the way home. (Heart)
For some that may be the hum of the full house, that white noise that is Family itself, kids squealing, guys razzing one another, new photos, events, moments shared.
For some that may be the recognition that comes with seeing, really seeing us and our efforts in a way that says, "This is why we love having Christmas/Holidays with you!"
For some, it's memories of those we shared so many special moments with, now honored with a toast and a tear.
You have given me a healthy dose of each of these moments in your own ways, moving mountains of despair, fear, loneliness, and replacing them with Hope, Love, Faith, Family and it is my fervent prayer that all of you receive that gift as well.
Merry Christmas, may the Season be as kind to you as you have made it for me.
Love

(3,771 posts)It is going to be a bumpy one for sure. But it will help to have a crew of generally like minded opinionated people here. Just sitting here with my teen son this first Christmas after my Mom passed.

Thank you for making us a part of your holidays, and thanks for bringing your son too.
I pray he got to know her well during his ten plus years. The bond traveling through you instead of stopping in you will turn this moment of sadness into a gift to each other.
Merry Christmas and please seek spirit animals that you can speak to her through.
For me it's Butterflies and Dragon Flies.
