but I suspect she has some mannerism - I couldn't guess what - that reminds you of someone you couldn't stand, possibly as long ago as childhood.

I looked for that (I'm a retired shrink), but all I could come up with was how exaggerated her mannerisms were. She's not natural in front of the camera, but gets herself all pumped up for show. Which I guess is what TV presenters do. I'll keeping mulling it over, though, and see what else comes up. Thanks for the suggestion.

It was well done and informative. I never understood Doyle’s fascination with spiritualism I have a greater understanding now.

I've seen lots of her shows, and have two of her books: "The Art of the English Murder," and "If Walls Could Talk, An Intimate History of the Home." Fascinating stuff!
