How much would I have won if I bet the Ravens +14?

Just wondering. I thought the Ravens could beat the Steelers, but +14 would have been a stretch.

Or minus? The Ravens were the favorite (-7), so the Steelers were getting points.
As to your question, I'm not a gambler but I always thought that the point spread line was a straight up bet.
Bet $20. Win, they give you $20 pkys your 20 back.
Lose, they keep your money.
So, it's a 1:1 bet, like placing your chip on black in roulette.
The variable winnings are on the money line, which is strictly who wins the game, but a heavy favorite wouldn't yield much return.
The money line only paid 20%. Bet $100, get $120 back.
OTOH: had Pittsburgh won, a $100 bet would have yielded $685.
