What rock band was the first to refer to their music as "psychedelic rock"?

(70,597 posts)I don't know a lot about geological history, but that element rings a bell.

(11,065 posts)Iridium is also a jazz club next to the Winter Garden Theater in Broadway.

(70,597 posts)Has it been there a long time?
My wife & I flew to NYC for weekend to see Cats at the Wintergarden.
Long time ago. (1985?) We saw the road show in Chicago then decided to see it again on Broadway. My wife had never been to NYC, so we made a long weekend of it.
Was the club there back then?

(11,065 posts)It opened in '94 a few blocks further downtown from where it is now. It's claim to fame was that Les Paul had a weekly gig there for 14 -15 years.
It's not strictly a jazz club anymore. (I guess they want to stay in business, or something!) But, they still book a good amount of jazz and jazz-adjacent music.

(70,597 posts)But, chickened out & looked it up.
Darn it! I was right. I remembered it mainly because of hearing Billy Gibbons talk about them. I was never familiar with their material.
Note: I didn't reveal the answer here. No spoiler.

(11,065 posts)A drummer friend I knew in high school had an original LP of their first album.
I hope he hung onto it! They are going for big bucks on Discogs.
