(13,901 posts)Spiders are our friends. We'd be overtaken by other insects if they didn't exist. They eat a huge amount of meat. Actually, they could theoretically eat every human being on earth is one year! Wait ... thinking ...

(26,795 posts)My grandfather almost died from a black widow spider bite when I was a little girl. My memories are very vivid.
I was bitten by one on my stomach and ended up in the Emergency Department with severe anaphylaxis. I went home from the hospital with a large swollen pus filled area that took several days to heal.
I stayed up all night once pulling furniture away from the walls of my apartment (with brown carpet throughout) after seeing a big brown spider in the living room. I never found the darn thing but if I had it definitely would have been history.
Nope is the perfect sentiment, afaic.

Have a great day!

(4,010 posts)Although whenever I find one in the house, I try to catch it and put it outside. Black widows are a different story. They are abundant here and potentially fatal. Tarantulas in the wild are amusing to watch. It must be the paws. 🐾

(20,232 posts)I move them if they are in the wrong place and leave them alone otherwise. I'm not crazy about the webs and cobwebs. My husband was better about clearing them out than I am.
True Dough
(22,164 posts)tell me to clear the cobwebs every once in a while. But she's looking me in the eye when she says it!
Just don't make any important decisions until you've cleared things up!
