Spiders are our friends. We'd be overtaken by other insects if they didn't exist. They eat a huge amount of meat. Actually, they could theoretically eat every human being on earth is one year! Wait ... thinking ...

My grandfather almost died from a black widow spider bite when I was a little girl. My memories are very vivid.

I was bitten by one on my stomach and ended up in the Emergency Department with severe anaphylaxis. I went home from the hospital with a large swollen pus filled area that took several days to heal.

I stayed up all night once pulling furniture away from the walls of my apartment (with brown carpet throughout) after seeing a big brown spider in the living room. I never found the darn thing but if I had it definitely would have been history.

Nope is the perfect sentiment, afaic.

❤️

Have a great day!

After reading that, spiders move back into the bad camp for me!

Arachnophobia and triskaidekaphobia, LMSP? Or does the latter not bother you?

If that were the case I'd have to use caution every time I used an adding machine or set my alarm.

They bite and if you ever been bit by one, you would know they can leave a nasty wound.

Although whenever I find one in the house, I try to catch it and put it outside. Black widows are a different story. They are abundant here and potentially fatal. Tarantulas in the wild are amusing to watch. It must be the paws. 🐾

I move them if they are in the wrong place and leave them alone otherwise. I'm not crazy about the webs and cobwebs. My husband was better about clearing them out than I am.

Tarantula for over 15 years. Her name was Morticia. I miss her, but the husband says a big NO to adopting another tarantula.
