Two shots to get the party started. Now a Bolero #2. Dark rum, brandy, orange and lime juice, and simple syrup. Yummy!
I tried a Bolero #1 a while back. Light rum, apple brandy, and sweet vermouth.
How is everyone tonight?
I love you all

(16,635 posts)Staying calm. The White House, Joe & Kamala are eerily quiet. Makes me think there's a lot being done behind the scenes to safeguard what they can. Am I being naive?
Aristus
(68,640 posts)Joe and Kamala are smart and hard-working. Theyre shoring up everything they can that would be difficult for Trump to undo. Theyre shepherding judicial approvals through Congress with the help of anti-Trump Republicans. Theyre doing everything within their power to minimize the shitstorm thats on the horizon.
They have our backs. We need to return their service by keeping our eyes fixed on 2026.

(28,667 posts)Turns out, Skippa loves the taste of a gin martini, Hates beer and wine, but loves a well made martini. I will need to secure the gin and vermouth going forward,

No cocktails for me, though. Probably a nice medium-dry Riesling to go with the turkey.

I have a lovely bottle of pumpkin spice creme liqueur intended for my coffee. Shoud I do the gracious thing, and wait to share with my friends on t-day, or start with my coffee tomorrow?
Aristus
(68,640 posts)I hope you feel better soon.
Its okay to treat yourself. Go for it, unless you already promised your friends you would wait.

(68,640 posts)It does hint that all alcohol is bad for you, but it starts with the liver.
Overconsumption of alcohol can cause hypertension, and often diabetes, both of which can be very harmful to the kidneys, heart, and brain.
