I'm an old Luddite, and I'm keeping Fb and X.

Please come at me if I’m wrong. I don’t pay for a blue check. I don’t think I pay a dime for these apps.
Facebook - I now live 7 countries away from friends I’ve had for 40+ years. It’s how we don’t leave each other’s memory. Your grand child is now bowling and the same age as when we met. I get video. For free. Crying, but I love it.
Back not that long ago, if you moved 25 miles away, it may have been Bulgaria. I’m in touch every day.
I’m not getting nefarious ads and subliminal posts from nazis. I’m just not.
Am I doing it wrong? Not trying to be funny.
If all of my oldster friends decided to leave here and go to another app when we honestly enjoy and don’t feel brainwashed, still vote all dem AFTER all the research and phone calls, that would be the end of something we all really enjoy. And if we’re going to be honest, we would screw it up so badly we would never hear from each other again. That would really, really suck.
No leopard yet.

Facebook is mostly people I we’ve to high school with/at and some other people I’m not sure why/how I’m friends with but they are good people.

Twitter is still interesting. Lots of funny comments. I’ve relentlessly blocked (as much as I can) the trash. Elon sure wanted us to see it.

I used to get the Twitter RW fringe but I’ve cut that off as much as possible. I’ve tuned into talk radio in small bits. I let them have their euphoria.

I’ve noticed that my Facebook friends have shied away from politics. We all know who each other is.

Except that most of my FB friends are relatives and current or former co-workers. High school for me was a small group of close friends. Those are the only people from back then that I'm interested in. The hundreds of others who went to the school didn't show interest in me and vice-versa.

I've never been on Xitter, and won't start now; and as promising as Bluesky is, I don't have any real need for it.

Though we all don’t have that. Sounds to me like you are taking care of yourself.

Nothing wrong with that.

Please don't throw rotten fruit at me! As for Facebook, I would be on there. However, I had a couple of unfortunate things happen to me. For one, I was hacked and forced to create a new account. Then, after awhile, I forgot my password and had to attempt to reset it. When I submitted my ID to Facebook, they said they couldn't confirm it was me and basically told me I would have to create yet a third account. With hackers being so rampant on there I figured that if I started sending out friend requests, people would be suspicious of me, so I've basically just said the hell with Facebook.
