Trump Says Son-in-Law Jared Kushner Is 'in Charge' in Israel, Despite No Official Government Role

Kushner served as a senior adviser during Trump's first term, but holds no official position in his new administration

While serving as a senior adviser during the first Trump administration, Kushner's application for top security clearance was denied due to concerns about foreign influence on him and his family's business dealings. A Trump-installed White House official later overruled the recommendation and approved Kushner's clearance.

The end of Kushner's service in the first Trump administration coincided with the president issuing a federal pardon to his father, Charles Kushner.

In 2005, the elder Kushner pleaded guilty to 18 counts of illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion, and witness tampering. He admitted to retaliation against his brother-in-law, William Schulder, who was cooperating with federal investigators.

Charles Kushner plotted to hire a sex worker to seduce Schulder and have video evidence sent to his sister, Esther, Schulder's wife. Chris Christie, then the U.S. attorney for the District of New Jersey, has called the case "one of the most loathsome, disgusting crimes" he’d prosecuted.

As I understand it, Kushner’s Dad had the DVD delivered during a birthday party. Not sue if it was a party for a kid or his sister or something. The DVD may have been played upon arrival.

These are two really good articles on how badly Jared f’ed up during COVID. He had no reason for being involved at all as is the case now.
