The campaign to tank Josh Shapiro's VP chances is gathering steam -- and accusations of antisemitism

There are reportedly four frontrunners to be Kamala Harris’ running mate in her bid to win the presidency. Each has pro-Israel bona fides.

But only one, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, who is Jewish, is facing a campaign to keep him off the ticket because of his stance on Israel. The stop-Shapiro push includes an article in a major left-wing publication, The New Republic, and a website and Twitter feed called “No Genocide Josh.”

I think Josh Shapiro may well offer the most 'help' to the ticket and he's one hell of a good politician and spokesman for Democratic policies and priorities. Even more, Pennsylvanians clearly really like him. Still, like everyone else here hoping to retain a unified and very focused ticket against Trump, I damned well don't want to see this erupt.

I have just found it odd that posts are appearing tearing Shapiro down. It almost seems like a campaign

Every time there's some momentum, and we're on the verge of something that will unify the party and make it far more viable than it has been, we hear this muttering, grumbling and demanding our way.

Look people, here's the bottom line on the Gaza War. If Trump wins, Gaza's remaining population will not come out well. It's quite likely that money interests surrounding Trump will help Netanyahu either permanently occupy the territory, pushing out the population and levelling the towns and cities, selling off the property in real estate development, beachfront resorts and settlements.

As far as I can tell, all of the remaining candidates for the VP spot have similar views on Gaza, mirroring Biden's two-state solution and a cease fire to stop the destruction and loss of life. Shapiro may be Jewish, but he's not far right wing when it comes to his very realistic views on Israel. In addition to Shapiro, Mark Kelly's wife, Gabby Giffords, is Jewish, as is one of the other candidates, Illinois Governor J. B. Pritzker. The Democrats are still by far the best option for a fair and reasonable resolution in Gaza for the benefit of the Palestinian population.
