Trump is 'in a bad mood' and ready to start a Cabinet firing spree: GOP senator

Source: Raw Story

April 23, 2026 7:09AM ET

With three Cabinet members ousted by Donald Trump since March 5, a handful of Republican senators are growing anxious for several reasons that the firing hammer is about to drop on more, in part because the president is in a “bad mood” with his administration flailing.

According to a report from Politico’s Jordain Carney, four GOP lawmakers are anticipating a purge in part because the midterms are coming up and, should the GOP lose control of the Senate, confirmation hearings under a Democratic majority would be problematic at best. Add to that, Trump appears to be in a firing mood.

The timeline is becoming critical. Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer's departure this week follows Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Attorney General Pam Bondi out the door — a pattern that has GOP lawmakers reconsidering the Senate's already compressed legislative calendar.

Senate Republicans face an impossible arithmetic. "The number of working days are very limited," Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) said. "You just do the math. It's a very compressed schedule."

Of which the MAGAts three will complain about.

Actually earning their pay will mean that they actually have to WORK for it. Rest assured, Hakeem Jeffries will insist on less vacations and more work on behalf of the American people that they SHOULD be representing. Unlike Mike Johnson, Hakeem Jeffries will be the new Sheriff in town and the rules will be enforced.

Suck it up, Buttercups!

Some of the generally worthless DC press could make themselves useful and ask him if he regrets listening to Kegsbreath's advice about the Iran war.

By this point in his last administration he'd fired so many of his Cabinet secretaries the Potomac Electric Power Company had installed a generator head on the revolving door and wired it into the grid.

In Chump's first term, he was firing staffers almost every week. Now he's well into the 2nd year of his 2nd term, and he's just getting started, but these losers so richly deserve to be fired.

Please start with RFK, Jr. PLEASE!
