Condom Prices to Rise by 30% as a Result of Iran War, Says CEO of World's Largest Manufacturer

One of the world's leading condom brands is increasing its product prices considerably after having supply disruptions amid the Iran war.

Malaysian condom brand Karex plans to raise its prices by up to 30%, and possibly further, as the company has seen a surge in demand, rising shipping costs and delays, Karex CEO Goh Miah Kiat told Reuters in an interview published April 21. "The situation is definitely very fragile, prices are expensive,” said Kiat, 48. “We have no choice but to transfer the costs right now to the customers.”

Since the Iran war began on Feb. 28, there have been cost increases for Karex across all materials and chemicals used in condom production, such as synthetic rubber, nitrile and lubricants. The price of packaging materials, including aluminum foils and silicone oil, has also risen, according to Kiat, per Reuters.

The conflict has also made it difficult for the company to secure raw materials for condoms and other products, such as packaging materials, as transporting petrochemicals and energy from the Middle East is strained per the outlet. This has also created high demand, putting increasing pressure on the company.

Stage 3 Nasalpharyngeal carcinoma is not a joke. Nor is anal, vaginal, and penile cancer

Oral sex is not a safe alternative to intercourse

Is it fun?

Yup

But still, get checked and be safe.

I'm certain they would love condoms to disappear as a move to get more girls pregnant. Sick fuckers, all of them! Not that they ever used condoms out of personally moral and magnanimous concerns over health issues in general except to protect themselves from diseases.

"Recent Trends and GOP Reaction
The Data: In 2025, the birth rate for teenagers aged 15-19 dropped to 11.7 births per 1,000 females, a 70% decrease over the last two decades.

Media Response: Fox News segments have described this trend as "alarming" and a "problem," with commentators suggesting that too many teenagers are delaying childbirth.

Political Framing: Some MAGA-aligned figures have lamented the shift, with some suggesting a cultural crisis where teenagers are "wasting their time on TikTok instead of... popping out babies".

Policy Positions: Some Republican attorneys general have sought to challenge access to abortion pills by arguing that reduced teen pregnancy rates harm their states by decreasing population growth and potential federal funding."
